Servicing
There comes the time when your car throws up the dreaded spanner symbols on the dash. Followed by the “Service Due in......”. This used to mean a costly visit to your local Mercedes Dealer who would find lots of extra jobs that they have found and advised that you have them rectified before your car becomes unusable.
This I am afraid is just a marketing ploy.
We at 124works carry out the same and in a lot of cases better levels of service on most models of Mercedes Benz cars. You, naturally, will be informed of any other defects that are found. However we will also inform you of when you would need to have such issues looked at.
As an example:-
An “A” Service to a 4 cylinder car would cost £160.
A “B” Service for the same car would cost £295.
All services include a full
Star Diagnostic check, which alone at a Dealers would cost you £97 plus vat.
If your car is a V6 then there is an added cost of £150 to change the spark plugs, a V8 Plug change would cost an extra £180. You may think that this is expensive. A recent quote from a Mercedes dealer for a V8 Plug change was £300 plus vat. Please remember that on a V6 there are 12 spark plugs and on a V8 there are 16 spark plugs. The plugs themselves, bought from Mercedes, are £9 each.
